8th Annual Building Creative Communities Conference
January 30-February 2, 2014

Held at Colquitt, GA The Home of Swamp Gravy, Georgia’s Folk Life Play

The theme is The Power of the Creative Spirit to Reclaim a Possible Future. There will be two exciting tracks: Resiliency Through the Art of Story Telling and the Art of Social Change

Dr. Jean Houston has been invited to be the keynote speaker. According to Dr. Houston, Colquitt, GA is a Renaissance town - where the “Creative Class” meets for inspiration. You will meet people from all over the United States, who are passionate about their communities: community theatre and arts advocates, community organizers, funders, artists, as well as students. Under the tutelage of Dr. Richard Geer you will participate in the Art of Storytelling and an evening Cabaret. One participant stated, “Richard Geer alone is worth the trip to Colquitt.” You will also participate in the The Art of Social Change lead by international trainer in Social Artistry, Jan Sanders. A special highlight will be a performance of Swamp Gravy: Brothers and Sisters, during the Thursday evening opening ceremonies on January 30.

Introduction to Social Artistry Leadership
January 28-30, 2013

Held at Colquitt, GA preceding The Building Creative Communities Conference

This 2-day training is more than a solid introduction to Social Artistry. You will engage in and learn to employ all manner of latent human capacities — sensory and physical, psychological and relational, mythic and symbolic, and spiritual and integral. You can expect that these processes will expand your inner and outer ways of being, that you will become more creative, more imaginative, and more finely equipped to deal with the many challenges of life. This training satisfies the prerequisite for taking the Social Artistry Trainers Training.
